The easiest way to submit a public records request in Arlington County is through the FOIA online portal.

Those who do not wish to submit a public records request online may email or mail a public records request to the FOIA Officer, County Attorney's Office, at 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, Suite 403, Arlington, VA 22201. It's important to note that the FOIA officer does not maintain vital records, including birth and death records. Arlington County birth records are issued by the Virginia Division of Vital Records in Richmond.

However, interested persons may obtain death certificates from the Arlington County Department of Human Services located at 2110 Washington Boulevard, Suite 350, Arlington, VA 22204. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Residents of Arlington can also request a copy of land records from the Circuit Court Clerk's Land Records Division. The Arlington Circuit Court Land Records Office is open to walk-in customers Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Land Records Office is in Suite 6200, 1425 N.
